From senior members of the Sassoon clan, to apprentices and students keen for a glimpse of greatness, Tribu-te magazine’s On The Edge drew a crowd of nearly 500 guests to pack the great room at Cadogan Hall in London’s Sloane Terrace last Monday. On stage, we invited five members of Vidal Sassoon’s hairdressing family. We asked them to show what they learned with the great man. How he has informed their work, and what influence it still holds today.
A Tribu-te show: On The Edge Sassoon family reunite
The point was to honour the legend and celebrate what Vidal did for this industry. Which in our estimation remains important and valuable to remember. This was the second edition of the On The Edge show, conceived by Tim Hartley – who himself spent 30 years with Sassoon, rising to become the brand’s international creative director – and powered by Tribu-te as our gift to hairdressing. “Take it and share the story with each other. Think it over and come back to us with plans for next year,” invited Nicky Pope, UK publisher for Tribu-te magazine. On stage, Mike Vincent, global publisher and owner of Tribu-te, thanked the audience for their attention, and the sponsors who helped bring the show together; Andis, Fudge Professional, and Kevin.Murphy. Enjoy these photographs. There will be plenty more in the print edition of Tribu-te this June, and on our Facebook page.
