We are living in unprecedented times and as a business that is built as much on relationships as the hairdressers that they work with, Salon Success understands the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic is having on our industry. The company has been working with hairdressers since 1979, to build successful businesses and wants to stay loyal to this commitment. As a result, they have created a dedicated hub for salons to access key and practical information and support documents designed to help the industry professionals navigate through these uncertain times.
What’s included
This includes the latest official Government information, key Salon Success brand assets, documents and resources for salons to help them to not only work through this period of change, but to plan for a successful future on the other side. Initial key resources include:
- Checklist for preparing to re-open your salon from our MD, Simon Tickler
- Post Covid-19 Safety and & Care Strategy for salons from Director of 3∙6∙5 Salon Education, Ken West
- Ongoing vlogs from Ken West discussing key Government updates as well as how you should be working on your business while you cannot work in it
- Free unbranded social media assets to help salons communicate with their guests
- Free ‘We’re Taking Precautions’ posters available for salons to download, print and display in their salon windows to reassure their customers ahead of re-opening
This is a good way for salons to prepare for post lockdown life and the social media assets are really fun and a good and easy way to keep your IG feed talking to your clients.
More initiatives
In a further commitment to the hairdressing industry, Salon Success has pledged its support to the Hair and Beauty Charity. For over 10 years Salon Success has donated the sales of Paul Mitchell® retail bags to various charities. In light of how hard the coronavirus pandemic has hit our industry, the y have made an initial donation of £7,000 from the sales of the retail bags. A massive thank you to all who support by buying.
When salon doors re-open to the public, work and interaction with guests will be different. Salon Success has invested a large amount of time and money in sourcing professional PPE equipment for customers to ensure that safety remains the number one priority. These will be available to order shortly.
Despite help from the Government and local councils, times will be tough for many salons upon re-opening. Jump Start programmes and packages to help salons to get back on their feet are also in preparation with help from brand partners.
John Paul Mitchell Systems pledge
Under the banner of ‘Stronger Together’, co-founder and co-owner Chairman John Paul DeJoria has pledged $4 million to globally help support the industry and help to get in back on its feet. John Paul has been sharing his unique brand of positivity and business advice for salon owners through high profile interviews on major networks including Forbes and Fox News over the last few weeks as salons are starting to re-open in the US.
John Paul Mitchell Systems announced on 1st April that it will produce Hand Sanitizer to help stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The company is manufactured more than 20,000 units of an 80% alcohol spray formula, which was donated to high-need groups who are facing shortages, such as Southern California first responders, Los Angeles police officers, and low-income families with young children. Salon Success is working with John Paul Mitchell Systems to try and bring this essential piece of PPE to European shores in the coming months too.
