RELICS RÆIMAGINED

In Uncategorized by Nicky

Fashion designer Christopher Raeburn (@raeburn_design) is known for reworking surplus fabrics and garments into accessories, menswear and womenswear. For his virtual fashion show for LFW SS21 he shows how important and smart the philosophy of ‘remake, reduce and recycle’ is.

RELICS RÆIMAGINED is an elevated statement capsule of womenswear pieces, offered in a palette of sulphur, white and black. Only made to order at his Raeburn Lab. The dresses and trousers of the collection are made out of a jet parachute; previously used and then reused and transformed into something new.

”As an industry we need to do things differently; we need to look for new systems. At RÆBURN we’ve always put action over words. RÆMADE has been our conceptual driving force; our reason for being. This season we push that concept further than ever before” Christopher Raeburn explains.

The hair and makeup of the model is done in a way to look real, natural, clean and fresh and works perfectly to emulate the texture of the clothing. The natural texture of the hair is embraced and we see textured hair dominating; a statement of simplicity, real beauty and self-acceptance. We love it. It’s important to see hairdressers and designers increasingly allowing natural hair texture, especially very curly hair to work in high end shows.
