Hairdressing is an emotional industry – quite frankly, if you don’t feel it, it’s not happening! So, it’s joyful to come across someone who makes something that really does matter – to them and for you. Meeting Cecilie Maria Torvik was a lovely chance happening for us at Tribu-te Magazine. Invited to celebrate the launch of Cecilia’s hair range Manda in the UK, we found ourselves interested, intrigued and won over by this Norwegian entrepreneur.
Meet Manda
Inspired by her great-grandmother Manda, Cecilia has created a range that puts the inner courage and individuality of a woman front and foremost. Manda was a courageous woman known for her strong will and unique style in a time when women didn’t have the vote. Cecilia’s capsule range of haircare is powerful yet beautiful. Founded on principles of nature and regard for the planet, she has conspired to bring us a haircare range that is both sumptuous and luxury, yet works very hard, too.
The Manda range
Packed with the highest-quality, natural ingredients, each product is intended to empower users to feel connected to a tradition of quality and care. Cecilia says that they are inspired by both feminine and masculine elements. Yet Manda’s design is by women for women, with tactile shapes and dreamy shades drawing from nature—glaciers, water, lilacs, and gold—symbolising a commitment to earth preservation. The unique packaging, reminiscent of Norwegian heirloom silver (known as ‘sølje’ meaning shiny or sunny), weaves a story of legacy and sustainability.
The shampoo is a rich, creamy formula, which adds volume to the hair. The square packaging means business, but the labelling is luxe. Infused with nourishing coconut oil, strengthening rice protein, and soothing aloe leaf extract, it hydrates, revitalises, and enhances fullness without stripping natural oils. The luxurious blend of rose and lily of the valley fragrance leaves hair beautifully scented, offering both indulgence and performance.
Shampoo & Conditioner by Manda
The Conditioner is similarly magnificently presented. Infused with coconut oil for its detangling and moisturising benefits, wheat proteins to reinforce hair strands, and aloe leaf extract to soothe and hydrate, this conditioner leaves hair feeling soft, nourished, and resilient. The warm fragrant blend of vanilla, cedarwood, and pine adds a subtle, inviting scent. Perfect for daily use, the Conditioner ensures hair stays healthy, hydrated, and effortlessly manageable.
