We’ve been keenly watching the way Avlon Europe has been building relationships with the UK hairdressing industry based on a fabulous portfolio of hair products specifically for curly coily hair, and extensive experience in the field. As sponsors of Tribu-te The Black Issue in Spring 2021, we witnessed how well the Avlon products performed, and met an amazing educator, Jacqui McIntosh. Part of the Avlon family for 22 years, Jacqui has not only witnessed the rise of the brand to become a big player in working with Black and Afro-heritage hair, but also contributed to its reputation for offering great education. Having taken the role of Avlon’s Director of Education for the professional hairdresser in recent years, we’re thrilled to see Jacqui now announced as the new European Education Director across all Avlon brands, both professional and commercial.
Jacqui McIntosh
A firm hand, a clear eye and a laugh that will make you smile inside and out, Jacqui is as likeable as she is accomplished. Her history includes time working in and managing salons as well as in-store concessions. This brings an essential understanding of the business of hairdressing, as well as creativity. Moving into roles that focus on being a technical expert and platform artist for a variety of brands across the UK and internationally, Jacqui is a key asset for the Avlon Europe company. There will be plenty to keep you engaged so watch this space!
Jacqui tells us: “During my time with Avlon, I’ve worked with some of the best scientists, such as the brand’s founder, Dr Ali.Syed. I love Avlon’s commitment to product innovation and its understanding of the science of hair – it’s why I find working with the brand so rewarding.
“I am thrilled to now lead on education for Avlon across all brands in both the professional and commercial sector as its European Director, supporting hairstylists to promote the Afro hair industry as the formidable creative force that it is.”
Designed to empower salon owners and help them grow their business, Avlon’s education programmes are available across a variety of platforms, including in-salon, at collective sessions and inspirational events and via Zoom online learning, Avlon’s training is delivered by a strong, passionate network of industry-renowned experts, led by Jacqui McIntosh.
