We get it! We’re all apt to declare ourselves ‘over’ the whole online thing. From Zoom to TikTok to Insta via Facebook and Whatsapp, while the brilliant options we have for connecting virtually have been invaluable lifesavers, for sanity’s sake we now want to be together, in the same room, like literally. And we will. But before we get too blasé and ditch all tech-driven activities, we’re giving a shout out to one of the BEST ways of growing, learning and sharing that we’ve seen these past 12 months. The INTERNATIONAL PRECISION CUTTING CHAMPIONSHIPS. More easily known as the IPCC.
A totally online competition that celebrates the craft of cutting. Invites entries presented with no need for professional photography or expensive models, this is one helluva a fab contest which pretty much anyone with a pair of scissors, a Smart phone and a doll head can enter. It’s international, judged by the most elite of hairdressers and, as entries are posted on Instagram and tagged with a hashtag, is like a piece of theatre that entrants and spectators can enjoy watching.
ENTER NOW!
It’s as easy as 1,2,3
- Present a round graduation on a doll-head
- Snap three different angles of the cut
- Upload the three photos to instagram using #IPCChampionshipuk
Judging
The entries will be judged by industry experts from around the globe. Educator, Debbie Gee is one of the guru’s repping the IPCC judging panel on behalf of the UK. Debbie is a renowned precision cutter and has worked tirelessly to earn her credentials. Spending over 20 years as a Creative Director for Vidal Sassoon London Schools and Academies; Debbie now runs a salon in Marylebone alongside her partner Billi Currie.
