Accomplished beyond his 1o years as a salon owner, Tim Scott Wright has proved his skill as a business man, master colourist, hairdresser and team leader. He trained with some of the industry’s greatest, starting with Umberto Giannini, and gained his reputation through hard work and engagement in the industry. Now he can celebrate a decade anniversary at the helm of The Hair Surgery in Stourbridge in the Midlands, Mr Scott Wright has much to be proud of. We did a search of our archive at Tribu-te to remind you just how he has made it happen.

The Hair Surgery, Stourbridge: Est. 2014

A decade of dos

Calling his 2024 anniversary celebration ‘A Decade of Dos’, Tim can reflect on a fabulous portfolio of collections that have hit the mark both commercially and artistically. These are some of our favourites:

Tim has won the title Midlands Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards four times (most recently in 2022). The Hair Surgery has won several industry and regional hairdressing awards including titles for Creative Salon of the Year, Best Regional Salon, Colour Salon of the Year, and Fashion Salon of the Year. Quite a range to express the breadth of good service in the business.

Tim says: “Ten years ago, a dream was sparked, fuelled by a passion for transforming tresses and nurturing confidence. The Hair Surgery was born – a haven where locks found their voice and personalities blossomed through every snip, curl, and colour.”

Client friendly

More than ‘just a hair salon’ Tim is proud to have created a true hub of the community, putting clients are at the heart of the business and providing a safe space for people connect with others while being made to feel really good about themselves. Client loyalty bears witness to the success of The Hair Surgery brand. Tim famously has a ‘Friday Ladies’ club of devoted clients. Some have been coming to him for nearly 20 years, following his career with devotion. Throughout Lockdown, online consults ensured that Tim still took care of his posse of fans.

Tim and his loyal clients

While exciting artistic endeavours feature large – Tim is also an industry player. He has proved massively loyal to the profession and featured on stages from industry exhibitions to the Fellowship For British Hairdressing. He has shared his experience and expertise with this team, and says he’s super proud of both current and former staff members, many of whom have gone on to open their own businesses.

“I am honoured to work with such a talented team and extend my gratitude to all past and present team members. One of the things I’m really proud of is the family we’ve created. I am honoured to have supported stylists on their hairdressing journey and love to see them succeed with their own businesses.”
