Love Productions has won numerous accolades for their hit The Great British Bake Off (so well loved it has the acronym GBBO). They assure us that this new venture is a celebration of the hair industry. The Big Blow Out will air on E4 and production values will be premium.
We’ve tried to discover who’s in the frame as presenter/judge? Top secret for now we’re told, however again the nod is that you’ll approve! So have confidence that this could be a really fab chance to promote hairdressing and most importantly, give you or someone in your team their big break.
Here’s the brief: Over the course of the series, contestant hairdressers will be set challenges to test their range of styling skills and techniques. Each week they will use their creativity and talent to WOW the best in the business or they’ll risk getting dropped. All you need is to be NVQ2 or equivalent, and you could be picked. The Big Blow Out is a talent search, and a great opportunity for hungry hair creatives. Just like GBBO, this should prove a positive experience and one that will also extend your skills. With each new weekly challenge, you’re urged to grow and reach for better!

Remember, this is a series for qualified hair stylists. From cutting to colour, braiding to weaves, this show will include it all so whatever your current skillset, get involved! The rules of entry on the application state that everyone must have either an NVQ2 or a BTech, or a completed professional qualification in hairdressing of equivalence. If that’s you, then go for it.
