Of all the shows, arguably the Graduate shows are the most exciting – you just never know what you’re going to see, or discover! This is also a more open brief for the hair teams who are freer to bring ideas and imagination as well as experience to the table in a way they might not for the more established designers. But they need to create a look to suit all designer styles, too.
We love what the L’Oréal Professionnel hair team delivered for this week’s ‘The Best of Graduate Talent 2024’. Gathering the best from around the UK, there was representation from universities from Liverpool to Bedfordshire, Winchester to Northumbria… so eclectic.
Graduate Fashion Week
19 stylists were led by Mark Woolley from Electric Hair, and Claire Mariscal from Johnson Blythe. The mission was to create a look that worked for a variety of clothing and hair types. The team created a dual texture look that could be a uniform look for all 25 models walking in the show. Essentially, all hair types would be sleek on top to the occipital bone, with natural texture below. The hair was prepped with L’Oréal Professionnel Tea Ni Art Pli and then dressed down with L’Oréal Professionnel Elnett Hairspray. No show can be without that! The Hair team
Bravo to all who rose to the challenge. We’re delighted to see such appetite for working in teams at pressured shows. It’s a great learning curve for all.
