In the light of the recent events that have put the whole world into a serious rethink and review mode regarding systemic racism, discrimination and lack of diversity and representation, here at Tribu-te, we are committed to moving forward with these discussions and bring you more thoughts and inspiration. We also want to be totally inclusive and we want to use our platforms to showcase work coming from underrepresented groups in the industry.
Our SHINE initiative was born based on the fact that women hair cutters do not get as much recognition as male ones and very few of them are in the spotlight. Hair-cutting is a male-dominated space, with men occupying most of the leading positions in hairdressing. As an all-ladies team, we strongly believe that empowering women and showcasing their amazing work is imperative for our industry and we want to do our part!
SHINE is an initiative designed to encourage women in hairdressing to claim their place in the spotlight. We specifically seek out women doing great things and we share this platform with them. You can see and read about women-cutters we love in our SHINE page of Tribu-te.
Also, just launched, make sure you follow @seehershine on Instagram and use #seehershine and #girlscancut to share your work with us. In the following days the @seehershine account will be taken over by talented ladies of the industry who will be sharing their work and thoughts. Tune in and see them shine!
