Sculpture Prints 3

Sculptoning

In Uncategorized by Nicky

Have you had a chance to take a look at the second chapter of the lifestyle collection “Sculpture Prints” yet?  This Davines collection is a very unique project, shot in film and dedicated to salons. But what is even more special about this video is that the new sculptoning technique and the colours seen in this collection are developed to be a tool to provide creative freedom in every hairdresser’s day by day.

Blonde has always been a focus for many hair trends with several techniques taking the stage over the years from the foils of the 70s to the highlights of the 90s and the balayages of the 2000s. The goal is to give a natural movement to the hair, to create the effect of ‘sunlight kissing’ and framing the face favourably.

Sculptoning

Today new techniques propose artistic freehand strokes, using brushes or other tools, like in balayage. But how can you stand out? How can you push the boundary further by riding new trends?

Tom and Ashleigh wanted to create a new artistic concept using hair as a valuable raw material on which hairdressers can sculpt volumes freehand using different shades of blonde. And they are showing us how.

Sculptoning is based on reversing the perspective and instead of lightening, we create darker sections in strategic spots of the head. The hair is styled into a ponytail and treated like a sculpture. Colour is applied by the hairdresser with freehand strokes in the areas to be enhanced thus making every look unique and tailor-made.

Just like contouring for makeup, sculptoning for blonde hair uses darker shades to sculpt and enhance the look. Eyes and cheekbones will be highlighted, balancing better the face features.

The result is just dreamy! Take a look at these gorgeous looks.
