Earlier this year we relished seeing Antoinette Beenders’ latest hair drop, Astral. Ever playful and experimental (not to mention obsessed with graphics and film-making), Antoinette is having fun with AI techniques to enhance hair photography. Now we have part two of the Astral project…

Antoinette’s eye

For Astral, Antoinette draws inspiration from the enigmatic realm of out-of-body experiences. She’s on a bold mission to redefine the boundaries of hair design. Enjoy these stills…

Our girl seamlessly intertwines cutting-edge artistry and technology. Study how she ingeniously employs AI-generated imagery for every facet of the collection, except for the model’s face and hair. There’s a purity of ethic here: the hair is real people! In a collaborative effort with the multidisciplinary artist Ed Maximus we enjoy how Astral represents a natural evolution of Antoinette’s prior work. Taking the ridge technique she initially developed for a couture fashion show. she reaches  a new pinnacle.

In our eyes, Antoinette transcends traditional hair design. She’s embracing and exploring how working with AI gives a new dimension to her work. It really allows the representation of three-dimensional hair.

The mood is to reflect the aesthetics of rounded architecture. The movement and shape beautifully captures the gentle contours and fluidity, resulting in Astral as a groundbreaking and otherworldly exploration of hair artistry.
