Thanks to digital streaming, recently salon owner Miabella Ristorp (above) invited viewers into her chic salon space in Belgravia London for an informal, personal presentation. During the day, Miabella and her small team re-worked four looks inspired by current trends at designer shows, making them accessible for you to emulate in the salon. As UK lead educator for Oribe, Miabella keeps a sharp eye on what her session styling friends are doing, and shares how to revise the looks using premium products to make them particularly client-friendly.

Look 1: Miabella demonstrated how to emulate the way James Pecis at NYC Fashion Week used products only (no electric styling tools) to create high-shine looks. She showed us the use of products to create a super smooth ponytail. This was then taken into a two-strand twist through the length of the tail which was looped back on itself to form a low-updo! High fashion made do-able. Top tip is to use Oribe gel-serum for ultra sleekness.
Look 2: Working on a head of very curly, coily hair, Miabella gave a ‘no-make-up make-up look ‘ for hair. She worked on the condition of the hair with care products and primer, then to make the finish very natural she focussed on defining curl. Top tip – use Oribe curl-gelee to twist curl together before drying (slowly) and splitting up the curl.

Look 3: Inspired by the Nicole Miller show SS2021 with a ‘Japanese’ effortless bun on a ponytail but again with a loose texture.
Top tip: Root direction is critical to get them close and flat to the head. Apply Oribe dry texturising spray to the lengths of the hair for fluffy texture before using tongs to twist the hair before creating the buns.

Look 4: Soft waves are hugely popular and there are many techniques to create them. Using Oribe Invisible Defence as a prep gives amazing heat protection and shine before applying a volume product.
