In our latest edition of TRIBU-TE, Tim Hartley proves he has his fingers firmly on the cultural pulse as he shares a selection of latest trends and designer collaborations to watch out for… We suggest you take a look:
25 YEARS OF SUPREME
The street wear brand celebrates 25 years with two great collaborations; the first a diamante box logo t-shirt from Swarovski; and second, a reissue of Jean Paul Gaultier’s cult Le Male perfume. Fabulous!
THE STANDARD HOTEL, LONDON
It’s THE place to stay in London now. It all started back in Los Angeles and New York 20 years ago. This is the first outside the US, they’ve done a fantastic job. I hear Paris and Lisbon are next..
CHANEL: THE KARL LAGERFELD CAMPAIGNS
By Patrick Mauriès. Published by Thames & Hudson Ltd (2018)
So beautiful. This book showcases all the Chanel ad campaigns created by Karl Lagerfeld during his tenure there. A perfect salon coffee table book to inspire – an absolute must-have.
DIOR MEN X RIMOWA
Love Kim Jones and everything about this collaboration with Rimowa luggage – what fun. My pick? The champagne carrier. It would make an excellent kit box.
TREND: VOGUING
This is really interesting – I’m seeing a revival of 90s dance music. The TV series Pose really looks at its beginnings in New York and there’s a nod to Malcolm McClaren and his album ‘Walts Darling’ which really was the start of voguing. It was an amazing time of inclusion, and supports where we are with the 50th anniversary of Pride too.
TREND: NEON HAIR
This was all over the Versace’s Menswear SS20 show – bright pinks, yellows and greens, reds. I brought it to my show at L’Oréal Colour Trophy Grand Final in June.
PINK: THE HISTORY OF A PUNK, PRETTY, POWERFUL COLOUR
By Valerie Steele. Published by Thames & Hudson Ltd (2018)
In all the menswear shows for next Spring, the prominent colour is pink. The colour has such an interesting history and is explored in this book. Love it!
