Marie Claire salon is here

Meet Marie Claire Jet Style salon claiming to be the first salon offering a simultaneous mani, pedi and 3D shine blow-dry service all in under 45 minutes. Perfect for just before or between your travels. Sounds cool, right?

The inspiration and the vision

The Jet Style concept is developed by celebrity stylist Steph Stevenson and intended to put an end to that lost time in rail stations and airport lounges. It will open under the Marie Claire license.  The concept is planned to roll out globally across airports and train stations under the stewardship of  Justine Southall, ex managing director of Marie Claire UK with three decades of work experience in brands like Hearst, BBC and TI Media.

As a hairdresser, Steph explains the light bulb moment came when wasting time waiting to travel. “So many women are rushing to do their hair and nails before they leave home, and then they are sitting around wasting time when they get to the station or airport. Despite 71.4% of women working in the UK and many travelling a lot, right now there is nothing that optimises this lost time. For so many women, time is at a premium, so either way, having a super-fast but super-luxe beauty experience just made so much sense and Marie Jet Style was born!’

Bringing her business acumen to the initiative, Justine says; “As working women ourselves, we know that everything about Marie Claire Jet Style resonates with busy women and the positioning in major stations and airports means that wasted travel is a thing of the past. The multi-service concept with more than one therapist working on each customer to deliver three treatments in 45 minutes, means that speed and luxury can be combined for the first time. We really understand women, we support women and we want to empower women to feel their best – the philosophy of the business is built on this premise.’

What to expect

To begin with, expect beautiful luxe interiors, the latest technology used and a signature aroma and playlist. Certainly, the flagship décor is appealing.

What else?

Well, clients can expect two nail technicians and a hairstylist to be working on them from all angles – tailoring services to their personal travel needs.  They can sit in the comfort of the salon chair and enjoy their favourite latte (brought by Starbucks who will partner with Marie Claire Jet Style globally).

Interesting to see Marie Claire’s empowering ideas and the dynamism that Steph Stevenson is bringing to the world of travel. We will watch closely.

The first multi-service hair and beauty salon will open in Kings Cross St Pancras and the global rollout will kick off in April 2020. We can’t wait!
