The celebrations continue and Tribu-te was delighted to join the latest edition of the prestigious L’Oréal Colour Trophy grand final for 2022 (the 66th event if you’re counting)! Guests were invited to attend in person – the first time in two years – and the proceedings were streamed live. There were shows, music, and of course, plenty of awards to present.
Who’s in the room
With an illustrious panel of judges, the L’Oreal Colour Trophy always attracts a great crowd of industry influencers. They gathered to applaud the winners but also to enjoy what we’ve come to expect from L’Oreal on this night – mesmerising shows.
For 2022, there were two very special fashion shows to mark the long-standing 20-year relationship between Central Saint Martins and L’Oréal Professionnel Paris. Presented and curated by MA Fashion course director Fabio Piras, the shows exhibited true talent and creativity, whilst providing entertainment for all guests.
The first show presented the work of this year’s MA Fashion graduates, with the second showcasing a collection of MA Fashion All Stars. This included designs from Christopher Kane, Simone Rocha, Matty Bovan and Richard Quinn.
Alongside this, there was also an incredible surrealist show – Cabinet of Curiosities – from Richard Phillipart and The Boutique Atelier in Ellesmere Port.
The big win
Time for trophy lifting. Bloggs Salons, Bristol took the number one spot, seizing the prestigious L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award – the industry’s longest running and most renowned hair award. Andrew Mulvenna, Belfast were awarded second place and Peg Hair, Brighton scooped third place.
Bloggs Salon, Bristol impressively swooped a further two awards, claiming the L’Oréal Colour Specialist Award and the Regional L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award in the Western region, making them the biggest winners of the night.
