The looks at London Mens Fashion Week grabbed our attention for being both fun and interesting – at last we’re away from the long beards and into something more androgynous. Now five years old, LMFW has become a good showcase for brands as they now support session stylists with ever better styling products. High on the agenda as ever, is texture… and we note a few shows adding girls in with the boys to thoroughly underscore the trend for he/she blended collections. We went along to a few events and share now the ones to watch!
• Christopher Shannon – teenage hooligans, bleached-up pastel-coloured hair, bucket hats and baggy jeans – streetwear and hair we LOVE! Courtesy of John Vial for Revlon Professional
• Katie Eary– Martin Cullen for Fudge Professional was inspired by 90s streetwear to send his club kids down the catwalk wearing longer hair with braids and colour aplenty
• Belstaff – with John Vial as lead and a strong team including Emanuel Esteban (at Anne Veck salons) for Revlon Professional, the mood is inspired by intrepid riders at the Paris Dakar rally
… It’s looking good guys… and girls!
