Carbon mindful
Appropriately for this era where we want to gift responsibly, there is a great Carbon Offset Programme in place to reduce carbon footprint. Here’s what Kao Salon Division has to tell us: All gift sets are made and packed in Europe, helping to reduce our carbon footprint. They are also FSC (The Forestry Stewardship Council) certified, meaning that only materials from sustainable forests are used in the manufacturing of our packaging.
As part of Kao’s carbon offset program, our 2022 Christmas gift collection (Goldwell packaging and products) supports a wind farm in northern Morocco with 40 wind turbines, providing a total capacity of 120 MW. This project makes an important contribution to reducing the share of fossil fuel-based electricity in Morocco and helps decrease the country’s 95 % dependence on imported coal, oil products, and natural gas.
In addition to reducing green-house gas emissions another main objective of the project is to strengthen the role of women in local communities by improving their social and economic situation (“W+ standard” award).
