Earlier this month, 170 of KAO Salon Division’s exclusive business networking club members descended upon the five-star Verdura resort in Sicily, Southern Italy for a two-day extravaganza of inspirational speakers sharing their business acumen, industry insights and for the visitors – networking opportunities galore.
The HUB Network event brilliantly combines speakers from inside and outside the hairdressing industry, so guests really benefit from a wide-range of creative perspectives, experiencing the unique stories of the presenters, and finding new ways to improve and re-evaluate their teams and salon businesses.
This year’s speakers included:
• Steven Bartlett: The 26-year-old CEO and co-founder of Social Chain, which has grown to be one of the largest and most notorious social-first marketing agencies. • Ed Stafford: English explorer and former British Army Captain, Ed holds the Guiness World Record for being the first person to walk the length of the Amazon river. • Simon Clarkson: Performance psychologist whose workshop focused on changing mind-sets and developing high-performance, winning teams. • Claudia Antonia Merkle: Art historian, journalist, artist and gallery lecturer at the TATE and the Victoria&Albert Museum. • Hilary Hall: Chief Executive of the NHF, the UK trade body for more than 5,000 hair salons, barbershops and beauty salons. • David Drew: Has been professionally coaching businesses since 2003, and his presentation “Winning in Business in Challenging Times” resonated with all guests. • Trisha Buller: is a Senior Consultant Trichologist, and her commercial session encouraged guests to look at new salon services and treatments that should be adopted – especially focusing on the scalp.
The HUB Network concluded with an industry panel featuring award-winning salon owners: Beverly C, Martin Crean, Sam Burnett and Shane Bennett, and a traditional Sicilian dinner on the grounds of the Verdura resort. Delizioso!
Julie Winchester, General Manager for KAO Salon Division UK, Ireland and South Africa comments: “We received some incredible insights and inspiration from the last couple of days from our amazing hots of speakers. We hope our key customers enjoyed a fantastic few days learning “How to Win” and will take home some practical ideas to help support their business ambitions. We are already looking forward to revealing the destination for the next HUB Network 2020!”
