What happens on the red carpet, can’t stay on the red carpet! From Tik Tok to Instagram, the BBC news to chat shows, the parade of celebrities and fashionistas on red carpets from Cannes to Shang-hai creates content for all our news feeds. And of course, alongside the clothes, it’s the hair we love seeing. The question is, how relatable are the looks to your hairdressing clientele? Ensure you can recreate or adapt the hottest hair to suit your customer. Find out about Hair Reworked.. it’s called mixing business with pleasure.
Hair Reworked – From Session to Salon
Hair Reworked is a new two-day academy seminar that translates red carpet, editorial and celebrity hair into wearable, client-ready results. Created exclusively for Goldwell by session stylist Pete Burkill, the programme responds to a clear industry shift: Stylists no longer need more inspiration, they need to know how to make it work behind the chair.
We’re moving beyond a ‘red carpet’ lens, says Pete. His Hair Reworked – From Session to Salon seminar reflects the full spectrum of modern influence – from editorial and fashion week to celebrity and social trends – and, crucially, how these can be adapted and applied for real clients. Delivered with the Goldwell education team, the seminar brings together cutting, colour, extensions, and styling in one cohesive, end-to-end approach.
Pete explains: “This is about taking what we see in session and fashion and making it work in the salon—without losing the integrity or finish. It’s not about diluting high -fashion ideas, it’s about refining them, so they actually work for clients.”
What to expect?
Day One: Deconstructing the Look
A look-and-learn day focused on breaking down high-fashion hair into its core components. This includes cutting, colour, extensions and styling, demonstrated live across multiple models. From editorial transformations to extension-led finishing, the day shows how elevated looks can be reworked into wearable, salon-ready results. Expect guest artist collabs as well as reference to working with and colouring wefts, wigs and hair pieces. There will be an extension-led transformation finale, bringing together cut, colour and styling into a fully realised, editorial-meets-commercial look.
Day Two: Reworking for the Real World
This second day is a hands-on workshop designed to embed learning through application. Attendees will be working in small groups, seeking to refine techniques across cutting and colour, supported by Pete Burkill and the Goldwell education team. • The focus throughout is creating commercially successful hair. It’s looks that feel current, premium, and achievable for everyday clients.
A New Era of Translation
This new Hair Reworked – From Session to Salon signals a broader evolution in education. Pete Birkhill knows well that it’s about more than inspiration, and strives to share how you can grow by understanding adaptation, relevance, and commercial return.
Goldwell’s commitment is in empowering stylists with skills that drive both creativity and business growth. For stylists, the message is clear: it’s no longer enough to follow trends—success lies in knowing how to make them work.
