Arguably one of the most misunderstood words to describe hair at the recent SS25 Autumn shows is ‘effortless style’. Notes shared by session stylists and brands give us time and again the description of a look as effortless. We know this is often anything but! For the hair teams working hours backstage with little space and time, let alone the opportunity to prep hair ready for styling, there is plenty of expertise required.
Take a look at these two shows: We admire and give respect to the hairdressers who created them; remember these models arrive bearing the looks from their previous show with a head full of product already. Session styling is not for the faint-hearted.
Chloé SS25 show, Paris
A signature touch of natural elegance and effortless style is how the press release described Gary Gill’s work at Chloe for Authentic Beauty Concept. The key artist behind the looks, Gary brought laid-back looking forward to a catch up yet polished styling.
Phoebe English SS25 show, London
Presented at the Iconic Images Gallery, this collection was largely in black and white clothing, with lead hairdresser Adam Garland representing Authentic Beauty Concept. He kept the hair simple with minimal elegant bobs that kept the focus on the clothes.
Key products included: Flawless Primer, Working Hairspray and Pliable Styling Paste to create the elegant bob.
You’d think these looks were fresh from the backwash… we love them!
