earth month helping donate water

Earth Month with Aveda

In Uncategorized by Karishma

Earth Month in April is fast-approaching, and Aveda offers two ways you and your team can support the brand’s Earth Month campaign. With charity partner Charity: water, Aveda aims to help provide water for those in need. Read on to find out how you can get involved.

Aveda’s Earth Month campaign

This Earth Month, Aveda, the vegan haircare brand with a sustainability mission, is proud to support the nonprofit organisation Charity: water. The mission is simple: to provide clean water to people in need.

B Corp status update

Here are two initiatives:

1) The power of every step

771 million people live without easy access to clean water. Many live in isolated, rural areas where they must walk at least 3.7 miles to collect water for their families. During Earth Week, April 15-April 22, Aveda will donate $40 to Charity: water for anyone who completes a 3.7-mile walk and posts on social media with the hashtag #AvedaWalksforWater. Aveda chose $40 for each donation as this is the average cost to bring someone clean water long-term through the efforts of Charity; water. Encourage your team to participate in this excellent initiative; it could be a great activity for you to do together.

2) Limited edition Botanical Repair Strengthening Leave-In Treatment

In a vibrant retail campaign, Aveda will sell its Botanical Repair Strengthening Leave-In Treatment in a limited-edition 125ml size with special-edition packaging for the Earth Month campaign. $10 from the sale of each limited-edition Botanical Repair Strengthening Leave-In Treatment will go toward funding clean water projects. Encourage your team to suggest the treatment to clients needing extra haircare.

Benefits

Aveda tells us Botanical Repair reduces breakage in just one use for instantly stronger hair while protecting against heat styling up to 232°C and the drying effects of the sun. Ideal for clients who have just had a blowout. AND in a first for Aveda, the limited-edition Earth Month campaign product tube is made from 100% ocean-bound plastic, upholding the brand’s commitment to avoid or reduce the use of virgin plastic wherever possible.

Bcorp stories

Caring Aveda

Aveda tells us that since 1999, when it first launched its annual Earth Month campaign, the brand has raised more than $69 million for hundreds of global and local organisations. To date, Aveda’s efforts have helped provide clean water to more than 1.5 million people and helped protect thousands of local watersheds. Partnering Charity: water, Aveda will focus on providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene during Earth Month and beyond. Easy access to clean water allows families to remain healthy while focusing on other essential aspects of life, like education and income. Most of us take easy access to clean drinking water for granted; use Earth month as a time to focus on ways you can help those less fortunate.

Psst! Did you know that in January 2023, Aveda Corporation announced its milestone of achieving B Corp Certification. Meeting verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
