Davines WWHT goes to Berlin

In Uncategorized by Ellie

Berlin, an urban city fuelled by creativity and vibrance was the location for Davines World Wide Hair Tour (WWHT). Davide Bollati and the Davines team invited us to join them and 2,500 hairdressers for three action-packed days.

“Choosing Berlin as the host city for the World Wide Hair Tour is a deliberate decision that aligns perfectly with our brand values. Each WWHT is held in a city that offers the greatest inspiration at the time, and Berlin serves as the ideal backdrop to showcase Davines’ commitment to beauty, sustainability, and creativity. The city’s dynamic and culturally diverse atmosphere resonates deeply with our ethos, as it embraces individuality, sustainability, and innovation—core principles that define Davines.” says global general manager Mark Giannandrea.

In a nutshell

After a smooth journey from Heathrow to Berlin, our first stop was the Davines experience in Alta Munz. An afternoon of immersive activities where you could test your skills as a graffiti artist – in true Berlin style – or for something more tranquil, decorate candle. At the Welcome Dinner that evening the Talent Greenhouse finalists showcased their interpretations of the Davines Hair Identity in a performance blending visual artistry with music.

Day 2 we gathered at the Uber Eats Music Hall to see world-renowned hairdressers showcase their talents: Danny Pato, Annie Ankervik, Allilon, Radio London and Tom Connell. That evening Davines took over Kraftwerk Rummelsburg for the “Give Peace a Chance” party. On Day 3 we were back to the Uber Eats Music Hall to see Jesus Oliver, Corey Absolut and Michael Polsinelli; and the winner of the Talent Greenhouse was announced – We were delighted to see Ben Grace take home the trophy representing the UK.

Radio London

We went backstage for a one-to-one chat with the Radio London team: Adriano D’Astolto, Corrado Tevere and Birte Kintworth. The team moved to Davines three years ago and this was their first WWHT. When it came to putting the ‘Subcultures’ show together, Corrado told us that the first step was music “as you saw, the show started with music, we found the songs we liked, researched and put our own interpretation on the look. I knew what I wanted to show, but it takes time… a lot of time to perfect that look.”

We asked the team how it felt taking part in such a big show, Birte said “We have been made to feel so welcome and the Davines team have been a great support”  Adriano added “The energy, the inclusiveness… there has been a community feel since we arrived.”

Talent Greenhouse

We were thrilled to see Radio London team member, Ben Grace win the 2024 Talent Green House for his exceptional cultural interpretation of the Davines Hair Identity. He was crowned by the jury for being able to reimagine a classic style with innovative, raw techniques, while respecting his model and authentically reflecting her personality. His haircut demonstrated a keen sensitivity and intuition for emerging trends.

Ben Grace, Talent Greehouse Winner 2024

“This 18 month journey has been an amazing experience and what a great opportunity to be among nine talented hairdressers from around the world. I have grown as a hairdresser in many ways: I’m more confident, I’m far better at finding inspiration and I’m digging deep into culture. Annie Ankervik has been an incredible mentor, as well as Candice and Tatiana who have been a huge support for the whole group” says Ben.

We asked Ben to describe his Talent Greenhouse experience: “mesmerising, exhilarating, stressful and emotional.” We look forward to seeing Ben on stage at WWHT 2026 in Spain.
