Davines Fight Climate Change

In Uncategorized by Nicky

Davines continues to lead the way towards reducing emissions by inviting the public to help create a more sustainable future. As part of the awareness-raising campaign ‘Still we are not there yet‘, Davines has launched a collective challenge through AWorld; the official app selected by the United Nations to support the ActNow campaign against climate change.

Davines are inviting you, your clients, friends and family members to download the app and take part in the challenge and take a central role in the fight against climate change. The app will suggest things you can do to help reduce CO2 emissions linked to human activity, as well as incentive participants to change behaviours with simple day-to-day tasks.

Climate action

We are living through a real climate emergency. Davines has been committed to reducing its emissions for years now and has an incredibly challenging goal to reach: to become a net zero emissions company by 2030” explained Sonia Ziveri, Chief Sustainability Officer for the Davines Group. “This means revolutionizing our activity and involving all stakeholders. For the best results, we need everybody to be on board: from the people working in the fields to produce our ingredients to the people traveling to sell them and even the people who use them. A responsible approach to reducing our carbon footprint also involves the daily habits of each and every one of us. How much energy does our beauty routine consume? Could we power our houses with energy from renewable sources? Could we lower the temperature of the water we use? These are questions we should always be asking ourselves. Small choices that we can all make every day, and which can have a huge impact on our planet.

5 tips to make your hair habits more sustainable

  1. Opt for a cooler water temperature: warm, but not boiling hot.
  2. Shut off the water while you massage the shampoo, the conditioner or the treatment.
  3. Turn the running water on only to rinse, then shut it off immediately. We know that shampoo is also a moment of relax for you; but if it is too long, it can cause stress on the Planet.
  4. Use the hairdryer at the lowest possible temperature. Or simply: leave the hair air dry.
  5. Remember to unhook the hairdryer, the hair straightener or the curling iron immediately after use. A plugged in tool uses power even when it is turned off.
