Sliding into 2023 we spy a breath of fresh creative air in the UK hairdressing industry from Butchers salon. A growing number of hairdressers is drawn to representing more closely the street culture they see around them. It’s expressed in their photographic collections, and this is a great example from Butchers salon.
Presenting what are arguably more accessible images to speak to the consumer is a new direction for the UK. By sharing their artistic hair work on models who more closely resemble the client in the salon chair, hairdressers are speaking to the model consumer. It’s really interesting.
Davide Spinelli @ Butchers
At Butchers salon group – premises in Hoxton and Camden, London, and Leicester – Davide Spinelli shares his latest collection. See above and below. This is a post-punk collection paying homage to the street fashion of East London. Working with different hair textures, products, and exaggerated shapes adds a contemporary feeling.
“The core of my creativity is simplicity, originality, intention and purpose. Creating concepts and images never seen before, marring beauty with unusual ideas, is what I aspire to achieve, even if only in the details.” Davide Spinelli
Thank you Davide and Butchers for sharing. We love it.
