The moment you parachute into a new venue, the magic starts to happen. Finding the right setting to inspire hairdressers – artists and audience – is vital to us at Tribu-te. Discovering the venue we would use for Tribu-te’s Hair Pieces: The Big One in November, we knew we’d found somewhere really special.
We invited photographer Mauro Carraro to join us for the get ready at Battersea Arts Centre. His reportage photographs behind the scenes gives you an insight into what goes into the show prep! We started with an empty room, which gradually came to life!
Capturing behind the scenes
Thanks to Mauro Carraro for the images. You can see footage of the evening’s show HERE. And more detail including photographs in the latest print edition of Tribu-te Magazine UK.
Hair Pieces artists included: Tom Connell for Davines, with guests Radio and Manifesto; Rick Roberts; Efi Davies; Danilo Hair Boutique Art Team; Giuseppe Stelitano, and Marlon Hawkins with Emanuel Esteban for Diva Pro Styling; D&J Ambrose. We had expos from Louis Byrne with #ICIAIW, The Green Salon Collective, and Haircuts4Homeless with Stewart Roberts, Jack Eames and Leigh Keates.
Hair Pieces will return in November 2022 with an equally exciting event based on immersive theatre. We are keen to hear from artists who’d like to be included in a show of this format. And of course sponsors who’d like to help us progress this innovative format!
