Proving the adage less is more, Tom Connell understands that you don’t need whistles and bells to create impactful hair imagery. You just need to grasp the Zeitgeist of the time and apply skill and sensitivity to the work you show. As Hair Art Director at Davines, Tom delivers a new collection, Capsule 2. Here he successfully melds the brand’s signature style of cool, natural beauty, with a capsule collection of hot trends made ready-to-wear.
The colour is achieved thanks to the Davines Sculptureglaze and Shadowglaze services, designed so clients can boldly go for a quick and non-committing colour service to refresh their looks. The play of shadows and lights are enhanced and emphasized by intense and deep coral and brown tones.
Shadowglaze
Cora’s vibrant red has been transformed into a rich burgundy brown in 15 minutes using the Shadowglaze service. Davines Finest Pigments and Alchemic are mixed together to enhance depth and tone in a truly unique way. Warm brown shades combined with soft waves give a luxurious, yet wearable finish.
Sculptureglaze
Working with the client’s existing colour as a base, a Sculptureglaze technique will brighten up and change the look in a quick and effective way. For Alina (below), the blond base previously obtained with the Sculptoning technique was used to create copper with a vibrant, yet soft tone. The dark base gives depth and refined naturalness to the look.
Tom says
“A combination of spontaneity, naturalness, light, refraction and surprising moments gives rise to these looks, confirming the desire to foster an organic appeal in line with the personality of those who wear it.” Tom Connell – Hair Art Director Davines
