Wella ITVA

ITVA Creative Retreat

In Uncategorized by Lilly Cox

It was in Lisbon this past weekend, that we finally got to witness first-hand the new Wella Professionals International TrendVision Award formula; and it’s true, it’s a game-changer. The ITVA of the past was barely recognisable in this new format – ITVA Creative Retreat – that focuses on a mentoring experience for participants that will take their salon professional creative and social media skills to the next level.

More than 76 participants from 43 countries (winners of their local National TrendVision Awards) descended on the Portuguese city of Lisbon to take part in the new three-day ITVA Creative Retreat experience. With an action-packed programme, participants were faced with challenges and training opportunities, supported by mentorship from some of the industry’s biggest players.

THE MENTORS

Five of the UK’s most notable hairdressers: Darren Ambrose, Jayson Gray, Zoe Irwin, Bruce Masefield and Akin Konizi; joined the mentoring line-up alongside international artists: Andreas Kurkowitz, Cyrill Brune, Dmitry Vinokourov, Renya Xydis, Miguel Estelrich, Matthias Herzberg, Sonya Dove, Markus Herrmann, Alexis Ferrer, Christophe Nicolas Biot and Abby Smith. Divided into eight teams with 10 participants in each; the mentors were paired together and responsible for teaching and coaching the finalists throughout the retreat experience. These 16 mentors went on to judge and select the winners for two of the biggest accolades in the hairdressing industry: the 2018 ITVA Color Vision and Creative Vision awards.

It was incredibly inspiring to watch the teams and their mentors during these three days, pushing their boundaries and working outside of their comfort zone. The quality of the work that we witnessed here was simply outstanding.”
