Sign-up pop-up success

In Uncategorized by Lilly Cox

We champion the work of the Hair Council in the UK (the only industry body with a Government mandate) to further the cause of state registration. It’s vital to understand the importance of raising the perception of hairdressing as a recognised profession – and the #getregistered campaign is the best way forward. Well done to The Hair Council’s English think-tank chairman, Penny Etheridge, and Ross Cosgrove SRH at Not Another Salon for their inaugural Sign Up pop-up event on 22 May in London which encouraged 45 new members to sign up to the Hair Council! Fair play. Membership gives them the right to use the State Registered Hairdresser (SRH) title, plus access to a quarterly magazine, helplines and advice among other benefits. A certificate to display in the salon confirming professional status seals the deal.
We are impressed how this new Sign Up event involved established and up-an-coming session stylists working up-close-and-personal with the guests, with visitors asking questions, helping assist and taking photos for social media. It was fun and friendly, with a fantastic prize draw ramping up the excitement factor. State Registered hairdresser and owner of Not Another Salon, Sophia Hilton says: “Ross was keen to organise an event that appealed to a younger audience, whilst still sharing the Hair Council’s brand message about the importance of state registration. The night was about being interactive and getting involved – not just the usual format of watching what the artists are doing.”
Keep watching @haircouncil #getregistered for news of the next Sign-Up pop-up event. There will be more to come!
