Designed around three characterful models, British Hairdresser of the Year 2017 Sally Brooks’ collection is all about personality. And it shows.

The concept for the award-winning shoot started to take shape when Sally met one young model (left, above). “I loved her innocence, and knew straight away I wanted to use her.”, Sally says.
Then she met Kitty (third image). A “super-fun girl with an amazing attitude”, and designed the entire picture around her energy. Sally met “an amazing girl that had just shaved her own hair.
Her whole vibe was that she didn’t want to be like other girls, she wanted to be individual.”, and through Instagram they managed to find her a partner (fourth image) with a similar attitude. Once Sally had found these three key women as a conclusion the rest of the collection started to come together.
Intended as individual images, rather than a whole collection, Sally’s winning images were achieved with a close-knit team to help her achieve her vision. Working alongside Sally’s hairdressing skills and artistic direction, photographer Jenny Hands and make-up artist Lan Nguyen-Grealis also helped bring a unique element to every shot. They where giving each photograph their own distinct vibe. We adore it!
