Discussing the collaboration, International Creative Director of RUSH Hair, Andy Heasman said: “We’re delighted to be collaborating alongside Palmer & Company with this really exciting competition. At Rush our philosophy is underpinned by Strength and Movement and we want to encourage others to showcase their passion for precision cutting. Dove and I cannot wait to see the entries.” Tribu-te magazine, Respect online and HairClubLive will be the media sponsors.

Entering details

Entries are now open for the competition, which invites hairdressers of all levels and abilities to enter via Instagram. Entering is easy and free and it’s the perfect way to hone your skills and receive recognition from your peers.

For a chance to win, you will need to upload your precision haircut on a doll’s head to your Instagram with the hashtag #PCChampionshipUK. For the first round entrants are asked to produce a look featuring Triangle Graduation, taking three photos of their work, (examples can be found on the Rush Academy Instagram: @rush_academy). The cut needs to be demonstrated on a block head. The colour of the doll’s head hair should be black, brown or blond but no fashion colours. Images should be taken with their phones with a clean white background. Pictures will then be judged and winning entries will progress to the next round.

Precision Cutting Championship

The deadline for the first set of entries for the Precision Cutting Championship is 24th May 2020, with finalists for the second round being announced shortly afterwards. Ten Finalists will be asked to do a second cut; they will all be interviewed and featured online on tribu-te.co.uk, respectyou.me and hairclublive.com. Five people will go through to the third cut and after that, 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be announced and all featured online again with all media partners.

Prize

The winner will be named Precision Champion of the UK and will get hairdressing equipment including brushes, clips, combs and scissors; plus a place on a cutting course run by Rush with Palmer & Company. And of course, there’s a trophy and certificate to be awarded. Well, it’s on!
