Pints & Ponytails: The Secret Life of Dads

Pints & Ponytails

Incoming story we never thought we’d be writing! News reaches Tribu-te Magazine of a a lovely gathering called Pints & Ponytails; a club for Dads wanting help learning to do their daughters’ hair. The title is cute and literally tells the tale. Hosted by the duo behind ‘The Secret Life of Dads‘ podcast, Mathew Carter and Lawrence Price, Pints & Ponytails is a safe space for men to talk openly about parenthood, and doing it over a pint is a winner.

Dads and daughters

When Mathew and Lawrence decided to step out of the studio and into the pub, their intention was to support Dads in spending more quality time with their daughters. Being able to throw hair up into a passable ponytail, a plait or a ballerina bun is the perfect way to get the girls chatting with Dad and the connection is delightful. [Eds voice: obviously the girls don’t go to the pub – that’s where the learning happens! ] Cue sponsor Pivot Point – makers of quality hair mannequins – onto the scene as they stepped in with the necessary equipment, and the tutorials could begin. The photos speak volumes – it’s clearly a vibe.

Pints & Ponytail events are a huge hit resonating with fellow fathers across the country… arguably globally, too! Several Reels have gone viral, the gatherings won press coverage. Heck, there’s even been a trip to 10 Dowing Street to get their message out there.

Time to upscale – and Pivot Point delivered. The mannequins can be re-used at several events and the concept continues to gather pace.

Pivot Point say:

We hear from Jan Laan, Vice President International Business Development for Pivot Point. “The project is so inspiring, and we could see the guys needed mannequins that would be as realistic as possible for the dad’s to practice on.   Suppling different hair types and ethnicities on real human hair also gives the guests the best practical experience to take home and create ponytails and plaits on their daughters.”

“We want the dad’s to have the most realistic experience during our events, so that they go home with more confidence. Pivot Point have been instrumental in enabling us to deliver this”  Mathew and Lawrence, Pints and Ponytails.
