Trends are a bit Marmite! Some colourists believe they help carry consumers through to trying new looks and tones. Others dismiss them as fads. We say, if they ignite some interest and are simply beautiful, then go with it. The new colour declared as Pantone of the Year for 2024 is Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz.
What’s Pantone?
Don’t be shy… if you’re note a computer nerd, or are aged under 30, you’re probably baffled by this chat about Pantone reference. Just know that Pantone is the company that provides a universal language of colour for brands and manufacturers. More than 10 million designers and producers around the world are helped by this system, so we all know we’ve got the same colour when using a Pantone reference code or name. Simps!
2024 Peach Fuzz
This year is all about kindness, says Leatrice Eiseman on behalf of the Pantone Color Institute. “In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a colour radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”
Voila… Peach Fuzz. Our go to shade for the upcoming year… if you like it.
Andrew Smith
Hairdresser Andrew Smith has revealed his take on the Peach Fuzz colour for hair and frankly, we love what he’s done. Andrew says; “With the Pantone Colour of the Year having been announced, this was of course the core inspiration for my collection. Peach Fuzz can be transitioned in many ways, taking a strong and vibrant approach or a soft and subtle tone – tailored to suit the complexion and the vision of the individual.”
He made global applications of mixtures including milkshake’s colouring creams…
Short hair: 12.5mls moisture whipped cream + 2mls rose brown whipped cream + 2mls golden blonde whipped cream + 1ml light pink whipped cream
Bobbed hair: 6mls rose brown whipped cream + 6mls golden blonde whipped cream + 5mls light pink whipped cream
Long hair: 30mls moisture whipped cream + 20mls rose brown whipped cream +20mls golden blonde whipped cream +10mls light pink whipped cream
