My place is…

In Uncategorized by Nicky

For the Summer edition of Tribu-te magazine feature ‘My place is…’ we visited significant, important businesses made successful by their hairdressing owners. From barbershop to Afro-specialist, hair salon to co-operative working, there’s much to celebrate.

Special attention

Browse the 2021 Summer edition of Tribu-te UK which seeks to be anti-rascist and share a positive image and celebration of the work of black hairdressers, barbers and business owners in contributing to our UK hairdressing industry. One of our stories ‘My place is… ‘ comprises a photographic feature including six of the best hairdressers on the London scene. We’re grateful to our super-talented photographer David Hindley who has made portraits that seem really to reveal the heart of each of our guests. They put people at the heart of our Summer edition.

Bravo for awesome-ness!

We feel that it’s high time we gave a bigger platform to promote the incredible successes of individuals and groups in championing the art in cutting, colouring and styling Black hair. We’re not hiding behind the description of ‘textured’ hair. All hair has texture. We are actively promoting a better understanding of the history and art of cutting, shaping and styling Black hair.
