Underworld is a strong, elegant collection by the Medusa art team. They created each image to be a ‘mirage’ of sharp, contrasting tones and textures. The understated styles come to life in Richard Miles’ monochrome photography, where shadows enhance the shape of the hair. Underworld is for those who love movement and want to look bold yet refined.
Inspiration
The Underworld Collection was inspired by the outlines and depths that can be contained within a boundary. Graphic edges and softer, undefined lines gave the Medusa art team a starting point for Underworld. Texture and tone create movement within the shapes of each style.

Medusa In Session
Tune in, catch up and watch the Medusa creative team in a relaxed and immersive evening. Medusa, the Edinburgh-based salon group, is hosting a creative hair show in the city on the 29th of January. The free event will celebrate the success of 2022 while inspiring the new year ahead.
When
Medusa invites friends, peers and colleagues to the newly opened Virgin Hotel on the city’s iconic Victoria Street to get up close and personal with the team’s creative talent. The evening will consist of inspiration, presentations, skills and techniques that can be taken back to the salon.
What’s involved?
It sounds like there will be a lot to see…with live photographic work from the team finalised for the British Hairdressing Awards Artistic Team of the Year in 2022. The Medusa Artistic Team will showcase their creative work, which was shortlisted for a section of accolades in 2022. The Educational Team will be representing the best in Scottish hairdressing. There is something for everyone.
Managing director Colin McAndrew says, ‘We want to bring all our friends, new and old, from across Scotland together to celebrate our industry. We hope to make this an annual event where everyone in the industry, regardless of position or experience, can come together and feel inspired for the year ahead. Join us in bringing some much-needed creativity to January. Our industry is amazing, so let’s get together, celebrate and give back.’
While Medusa In Session is a complimentary event, donations are welcome. Ticket donations will be split into two charities; Hair & Beauty Charity and Choose Love.
