The L’Oréal Colour Trophy is a heartbeat for the hairdressing industry. Long-established and still much revered for bringing competition and helping promote colour talent. But equally we love it for the entire event which includes a live hair show. This, we say at Tribu-te Magazine, is vital to the cohesion of and celebration for our hairdressing industry. Without live events, without hair shows, without awards… we risk losing our sense of community and our quest to raise standards.

laud L’Oréal bosses for never shying away from the live stage show – they show commitment to putting the right production and hair teams together to create something special. It’s tough to convey the excitement and pzazz of a live show on still photography, but let’s try! For the 2025 edition, Darren and Jacki Ambrose at D&J Ambrose gave us a presentation entitled Real Hallucination – a mind trip through th
e generations of pop culture and an insight to the future. So exuberant and punchy – we loved it. “We will shape all that is to come…” was the uplifting message from Darren and Jacki.
A second show from L’Oreal Professionnel’s Global Colour Ambassador Berni Ottjes’ was titled Chromatique and gave bold shapes and textures a striking outing in the show.
