Highland Armour

We love this collection from Australian hairdresser Lisa Polini: Highland Armour. She has taken inspiration from Alexander McQueen’s’ seminal Fall 95 collection entitled ‘Highland Rape’, and made the hair her own. Enjoy the images then scroll down for words from Lisa.

Lisa Polini at Hype Hair Studio explains: “Highland Armour showcases brilliance and dimension in hair colouring and designer fashion. This tartan-inspired collection is pushed to a dark side of beauty where women feel liberated to embrace their power and can express their individuality through creative hair fashion.
“The use of bold colour hues, supported by both contrasting and complementing accent shades in the tartan garments, allows these beauties to express their power. The placement of colour works seamlessly with the hard exterior of the tartan garments and the lock and key chain accessories.
“Collectively the colour palette incorporated shade reflects of the eccentric tartan. The use of solid colour blocking was applied intermittently to accentuate strong lines, whilst soft blended base stretching in iridescent lemon/lime greens, sapphire blues and magenta pinks create a strong guideline for colour trends.
“The shading between light and dark exaggerates the strength of the forms within the hair and gives both dimension and structure to each look. The combined looks are strong with a hint of softness, creating depth and romance that marries the selected palette together.”

Bravo – very well done!
