Hear Me See Me celebration

In Uncategorized by Nicky

The beautiful surroundings of a Notting Hill address and a recent gathering of hairdressing’s top brass made a fitting tribute to the work of Stewart Roberts MBE and founder of Haircuts4Homeless. As restrictions eased, we had come to celebrate the publication late last year of Hear Me See Me, a coffee table book of photographs and quotes that documents the incredible work of H4H, and toast Stewart and his co-conspirators in the project! He stood proudly alongside photographer Jack Eames and session stylist Leigh Keates and recognised what a true labour of love they had achieved. Hear Me See Me not only shares the important work of the charity but essentially raises the funds needed to keep possible the network of volunteers delivering services. Frankly, every salon should own a copy.

“Homelessness is at crisis point in the UK and although we are aware this book is not going to solve the issues, we do believe we can contribute to making a small difference to the lives of these people. But we need your help, so please buy a copy of the book to help maintain our ability to fund our services.” Stewart Roberts, founder Haircuts4Homeless

Hear Me See Me is an expression of all that hairdressing should be proud of; the transformative power of a haircut! Pop one in your clients hands instead of a glossy mag, next time they’re in the salon. Strike up a conversation about how wonderful, essential and rewarding hairdressing is as a career. That is one worthwhile conversation to have.

thanks to Teresa TArmay for lending her wonderful beauty salon space for the party. It is stunning!
