Every initiative needs a natty title, and one that expresses a mood if possible. The announcement of a Goldwell Glow Up hits the spot for us! This professional, colour-focussed brand (in the Kao Salon Division group) came to life in 1948 and has lived a life, we might say. You’ll be familiar with colour products including Topchic, Colorance and Elumen. Then there are the high-performance care and styling products Dualsenses and StyleSign, not to mention oodles of as perm and texture products over the years.
Now, a new incarnation for 2026 and beyond. The Goldwell brand is relaunched to reflect a new era for the professional hairdressing industry. Goldwell says this is more than a rebrand. The Glow Up is a recommitment to: Stylists; salons; and to the future of colour. The point is that for more than 75 years, Goldwell has stood as a trusted salon-first partner. Today, its professional colour expertise and continuing innovation is expressed in a new brand campaign, ‘Color the Future’. This brings together the new brand purpose. It brings stylists even closer to the heart of the brand, co-creating the future of colour.
Color CoLAB
A particular initiative comes in the launch of Color CoLAB. With this, Goldwell introduces a framework in which creativity and collaboration “drive innovation”. It plays out as stylists are invited to test, refine and shape everything from new services to campaigns and education in partnership with the brand. The result, says Goldwell, is that products and ideas will be developed not just for stylists, but with them. A commitment to ‘a people powered colour philosophy.
COLOR OF THE YEAR 2026
Kicking off this Color CoLAB is Goldwell’s Color of the Year 2026: Bellini. This has been developed in collaboration with international colourists Salome De Wet, Zachary Norman, Peter Wu and Neil Barton.
Bellini embodies optimism and artistry in a luminous, head-turning shade created from Goldwell’s existing color palette. It represents the brand’s vision of colour as a force for creativity, connection, and transformation.
New look
As part of the new direction, Goldwell’s brand identity has been updated to reflect the new vision, including:
