Goldwell Global Zoom 2018

Global Zoom 2018 – a triumph

What a Global Zoom experience!

Mazella & Palmer Ombre Rouge show

We accepted an invitation to join the Global Zoom 2018 event with pleasure. Of course, we know from previous years this is an exciting and well organised happening presented by Goldwell and KMS. We’re happy to report that the 2018 gathering, hosted in the Canadian city of Toronto was better than ever. No, we didn’t actually count, but given the noise and bustle, can believe nearly 3000 hairdressers attended and seemed very satisfied with what was on show. Like us, they enjoyed masses of great education sessions and took in news of product innovations. And of course, we attended a gala show including the announcement of the Goldwell Color Zoom 2018 winners. The timetable was smooth, production values extra-high, and plenty of buzz at all times.

Among the high points for Tribu-te was the inaugural show from Mazella & Palmer. These boys are great friends of ours. They reprised their Forgotten Circus collection to delight the international audience. They also revealed a new collaborative collection called Ombre Rouge. Stunning! Bravo to the pair who are truly awesome educators, and we’re pleased to see them recognised globally.

We were also hugely impressed with the Global Zoom reveal of Goldwell’s REMIX collection for 2019. You’ll have to wait a while to see the collection in print/online but admire below our taster here of the upcoming looks. They  were staged with brilliant styling and a soundtrack we must get for our selves – awesome music choices.

COLOR ZOOM 2018 WINNERS! The pivot point for the weekend was the Sunday night Gala Show of Global Zoom, which opened with a parade of the finalists in the Color Zoom 2018 competition. We applauded our three UK hopefuls who did us proud with very beautiful work: Lydia Wolfe (Gold winner in the Creative category); Kasha Havis (Gold winner in the New Talent category); and Stephanie Jones (Gold winner in the Partner category). But it was not to be their night. We watched as our Dutch colleagues congratulated three girls from the same salon – Partners Hairstyling in Appeldorn, Netherlands – who astonished the crowd by seizing gold in all three categories. Unusual but we agree – they did great work. See for yourself below: New Talent category: Nushka Barbosa, Netherlands Creative category: Roos Topley, Netherlands Partner category: Lieke Nijenkamp, Netherlands.
