The World is turning and leaning into the new way of doing things means understanding that the manufacturers and key brands are not as focussed on professional hairdressing. With the rise of E-Commerce and social media, the line between professional and commercial brands is well and truly blurred, if not vanished. It means hairdressers are often ‘doing it for themselves’. The lucrative brand ambassador roles, subsidised salon openings and educator roles are not as abundant. We love how a new initiative, in the form of the Global Hair Collective, swerves any reliance upon the big companies for work, and sets out to put hairdressers in charge of their own bookings.
Global Hair Collective
The launch of the Global Hair Collective this Summer announced a premium international hair education network founded by Daniele De Angelis. He is bringing together internationally respected educators united by one shared vision. Education, on their own terms.

Daniele writes: For decades, professional hair education was built inside institutions. The companies that shaped modern hairdressing gave generations of educators something invaluable: structure, credibility and a place to grow. They built careers, they built standards and they laid the foundations our industry still stands on. Then the world changed. An online digital presence gave educators something they had never had before – the opportunity to build their own audience, their own reputation and their own identity. A generation of educators stepped out independently. Many built extraordinary careers.
But something else happened too. The industry began to fragment. Shared standards and the feeling of belonging to something bigger slowly disappeared. There was something that few people spoke about openly: Being an independent educator can be a lonely place. People see the travel, the seminars, the stage and the audiences. What they don’t see is the person behind it – managing bookings, creating content, building relationships, preparing alone and learning as they go. The freedom was real. But so was the weight that came with it.”
Individual choice
This new platform gives both hairdressers, and potential clients, fantastic choice. The concept of the Hair Collective is to include individuals who can offer something bespoke.
Global Hair Collective connects exceptional educators to salons, academies, education hubs, distributors and event organisers across the world. Through one international network, education can be tailored to every need – from bespoke in-salon training for a single team to international seminars, collaborative events and major industry shows.
For educators, it creates opportunities without compromising their independence. For salons, it brings world-class education directly to their teams, wherever they are. For academies, education hubs, distributors and partners, it provides access to a trusted international network capable of delivering education at every level. It is having a network that stands behind you to help you grow, to open doors and to share experiences that give you the confidence to keep moving forward. It is the difference between building alone and building with people who believe in what you do.
Founding team
The initial, founding team included educators from many disciplines of the craft while pioneering programmes in Human & Communication – placing consultation, psychology and emotional intelligence at the heart of modern education.
With the global founding team now in place, Global Hair Collective is actively seeking Affiliate Partners across international markets. Whether you are an academy, education hub, distributor, organisation or industry connector, Global Hair Collective welcomes conversation with aligned partners who share the vision of raising standards and expanding access to exceptional education worldwide.
‘I am not here to reinvent the wheel. What I saw was a model that was missing – a space between the great institutions and the independent educator. A platform where you belong to something, but your name, your identity and your growth are always yours. That is what Global Hair Collective is.
What surprised me most was the response. It confirmed what I had believed all along: the industry wasn’t looking for another academy. It was ready for a different way of growing together’
