British Beauty Week

In Uncategorized by Karishma

This October, British Beauty Week returns for its 5th year, so get planning! British Beauty Week is a 5-day beauty festival initiated by the British Beauty Council, appealing to both industry professionals and consumers. The week is a call to celebrate our industry by sharing insights into what we do and why with the consumer. And highlights our influence on communities and the British economy. We want all sectors of the beauty industry, including hair professionals, to come together for events, shows, demos and promotions.  This could be an excellent opportunity for you and your team to connect with others, promote what you do, and to learn new ideas. Encourage your team, your peers, your bosses and your clients to get involved. Planning your contribution could also be a great team-bonding activity.

British Beauty Week details

The British Beauty Week is October 26-30th with the key themes: Talent; growth; and ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance). With the festival, the British Beauty Council wants to highlight that ESG drives growth using creativity and talent.

How does hairdressing get involved in British Beauty Week?

Last year gives inspiration. In 2022…

Stewart Roberts MBE

Stewart Roberts MBE, founder of Haircuts4Homeless, held his Hear Me, See Me exhibition. During the exhibition Stewart showed some thought-provoking portraits from the Hear Me, See Me book.

Adam Reed

Adam Reed, celebrity hairstylist and founder of Arkive Headcare, held an Importance of Headcare panel talk at his salon. On the panel, Adam invited; Anna Teal at Aromatherapy Associates, British Beauty Council’s chief executive Millie Kendall OBE, and skincare expert Annee de Mamiel. They discussed the beauty industry’s positive impact on mental health and well-being.

Sam McKnight MBE

Sam McKnight MBE, founder of Hair by Sam McKnight Haircare, held a masterclass at Space NK George Street in Edinburgh. Visitors discovered his new collection while he shared industry tips.

We look forward to seeing this year’s hairdressing contribution.

More details

British Beauty Week explores different aspects of the industry, from environmental, social and governance to talent and growth. This means your involvement can be whatever you make of it. The British Beauty Council has a few ideas for you: Open your factory to visitors and help them understand the way you do business. This could be a great way to share practices that make your business more sustainable and environmentally friendly. Another idea is to host an in-store demo to show off your team’s talent. Certainly we know the benefits of sharing ideas and inspiration, ensure your team members know too.

Media impact

Added benefit? The British Beauty Council says that the festival has an influential media impact with the help of Mission PR. You can expect to reach new audiences and boost awareness about your brand or business. If your business is new or you want to expand your network, British Beauty Week could be the perfect time to meet consumers and connect with other professionals. In 2019 the event gathered a media reach of 1.2m…this year could be even bigger.

It is inspiring to see industry professionals come together to celebrate the hard work of everyone in the industry. We hope to see many of you getting involved.
