Continuing to drive change in hairdressing – and to be part of that change – Tribu-te Magazine’s Summer 2022 is again titled ‘The Black Issue’.
This is the second time we have devoted a large part of the magazine to working with Black/Afro texture hair – our intention is to shine a light on the UK industry, asking what we do well and what we can do better to support diversity and inclusion. In the past 12 months (since the first edition appeared in June 2021) we try to positively promote the work of Black and Afro hairdressers both with diversity in the imagery we post and the information we share. For June this year, we have worked closely with the L’Oréal Professional Products Division to demonstrate the importance of education specifically, encouraging all hairdressers to learn and practice working with all hair types and textures.

In The Black Issue 2022 we look at the need to share knowledge and encourage confidence in working with all types of curly hair. The cover collection shoot brought together a group of esteemed hairdressers to show their skill in working with Black Afro hair. We were impressed – enjoy the film above and our shoot hairdressers at work.
