One of the first winners at The Big One Trophy awards is now a regular at London Fashion Week, and we’re all eyes on his gorgeous hair work. Danilo Giangreco is a salon owner in central London and the UKI artistic ambassador for Revlon Professional.
One of his calendar highlights is leading a team stylists on shows that demand great dexterity, speed of hand, and displaying an eye for creativity and taste at all times. That’s Danilo’s signature style all embraced!
The hair team worked across two brands with distinct briefs. Their kit bags rammed with products to help achieve all types of looks, but we spotted the motif dominating runways this season: texture and structure balanced with softness.
Patrick McDowell
For Patrick McDowell’ show, the models’ hair was styled to achieve cloud-like texture and fluid movement. This allowed it to move naturally with the clothes, whilst staying under control. Danilo took influence from the photographic language of George Platt Lynes, and brushed-out curls to frame the face; soft, airy and halo-like.
Dreaming Eli
At Dreaming Eli, the volume took centre stage. Styles felt structured but remained tactile being polished in places and raw in others.
In line with the collection’s Marie-Antoinette court-inspired storytelling with a hint of theatrical elegance, while remaining modern and wearable.
The magic behind the hair
Danilo shared with us this insight: “Using Revlon Professional backstage made it easy to build that strong base and then layer texture without losing movement. You want control but you also want that slightly undone, emotional quality that makes the look feel real – and that balance worked beautifully across both collections.”
Product specific
The hair approach was to build a strong foundation first, and then layering texture and shape with Revlon Professional StyleMasters range. He used StyleMasters Volume Elevator Spray to lift and support the sculptural styling and expansive volume.
Precision in curl creation and shaping was achieved with StyleMasters Smooth Control Iron Guard, and for shine and manageability, the hair was sealed with Revlon Professional Orofluido Original Elixir. For flexible hold without compromising movement, the final touches included StyleMasters Photo Finisher and Double or Nothing Reset.
Be inspired
It is always compelling to see how hairstylists showcase their talent across different fashion shows, creating hair that feels emotional, sculptural and intrinsically connected to each collection’s narrative.
