Alternative hair Show

Alternative Hair Show returns

In Uncategorized by Nicky

It’s so cool to see familiar events returning to live formats – our much-preferred way of gathering together of course! The latest announcement for a well-loved event is the return of the Alternative Hair Show. Designed to coincide with Salon International weekend in October, the AHS is going to play on 9th October. Essentially a fund-raiser for research into childhood blood cancers at Great Ormond Street and other hospitals, supporting families with a sick child, and assisting global projects to train medical staff, this show is a feel good happening for sure.

Alternative thinking

This year on 9th October at the Troxy in the East of London (convenient for Salon International, obvs) there is a LIVE show with hairdressers showing their work on stage. The whole concept is ‘Legends’ and there will also be screening of the grand final of the 2022 Visionary Awards alongside the artistic presentations. Equally, the main show on 9th will once again be streamed virtually across the world. It’s hosted by hairdresser Tony Rizzo who has dedicated 40 years of his time and effort to make the Alternative Hair Show happen. Every year is hard. It certainly hasn’t got any easier with the Pandemic placing limitations on live shows plus the art of fundraising.

Artists on stage include: Anne Veck • Carlo Bay • Dimitry Vinokurov • Gogen • Klaus Peter Ochs • Laszlo Hajas • Marc Antoni • Rudy Mostarda • Stevo Pavlovs • Saco UK • Sanrizz • Sasoon.

Sponsors are important for all such events, and this year the Alternative Hair Show says it is very honoured to have Alfaparf as its Premier Sponsor together with Platinum Sponsor: Wella. Charity Sponsors for this year’s show are: Infringe, Semi di Lino, AH products, Linda Beauty, Sun Sea Academy, Sebastian and Parlux
