You can’t put a price on the work of the Haircuts4Homeless charity. And yet we must. Our industry knows better than any the transformative effect of a haircut, the boost to self-esteem that comes with looking ‘human’. Offering such a service is invaluable and we need to help.
For the past four years, founder of Haircuts4Homeless Stewart Roberts has been working to build a community of volunteer hairdressers around the country, providing free hairdressing services to the homeless. As the network grows in size and value, the resources needed to keep Haircuts4Homeless running have, too. How can they meet costs? There is a plan! HEAR ME SEE ME
Hairdresser session stylist Leigh Keates is a loyal supporter working alongside Stewart Roberts and his close-knit team, sharing practical skills. Photographer Jack Eames – one of our most important and respected image-takers – has documented the Haircuts4Homeless journey with incredible portraits. The three men make quite a trio, and are following an idea from Leigh to produce a coffee-table book telling the story of Haircuts4Homeless in amazing pictures – titled Hear Me See Me. All proceeds from the book sales will go back into keeping H4H running for the foreseeable. Here’s Stewart explaining how you fit in:
