A Blonde Story

In Uncategorized by Karishma

A Blonde Story is the latest, stunning collection from Tom Connell, hair art director at Davines. The collection was shot on location in a beautiful, sun-drenched Italian garden. Bliss! A Blonde Story is an encounter that explores diversity. In the collection, we see four stand-out blonde looks on different models that demonstrate the extraordinary potential for each blonde being truly individual.

Sunlight in A Blonde Story

The looks in A Blonde Story demonstrate a beautiful menu of dedicated in-salon colour services. Tom’s concept is that, as well as clean portraits showing the colour services, Davines needs an editorial vision to bring the looks to life. He uses natural sunlight. Tom says natural sunlight adds a freshness to the images, which stops them from looking like beauty shots taken in a studio. He wanted to create authentic and achievable looks. And the key idea is that blonde hair looks different throughout the day as the lighting and setting changes.

Sunlight is an important element in the collection which, due to the regenerative energy sunlight produces, ties into the Davines sustainability ethos. We love the connection.

Let’s take a closer look:

A Blonde Story

Draped Blonde

Draped Blonde

The draped blonde look is a soft, balayage enhancing natural blonde with varying depths. The look highlights personal tones and evolves with the natural fall of the hair, complementing individual skin tones and darker roots. Davines says this look is ideal for fine to medium textures and medium to long lengths.

Crescent Blonde

Crescent Blonde

The Crescent Blonde look is a full-head bleached blonde with a natural edge. The look has a creamy base, accented by deeper natural blonde tones at the hairline and roots, which are revealed as the hair moves. Davines says this look is ideal for straight, medium or thick long hair.

Single Tone

Single Tone

Single Tone is a graduated honey blonde with a refined look that blends seamlessly through the hair. The shade is lighter around the face to highlight the eyes and skin tones and gradually deepens towards the back. The placement can be bright and bold or subtle and discrete, reflecting the clients’ mood and their hair’s natural tendencies. This look is ideal for medium length curly or coily hair with medium to thick texture.

Blended Blonde

Blended Blonde

Blended Blonde is a seamless ash blonde which gives white hair a youthful makeover. Non-committing blonde tones soften contrast, playing with natural tones by adding delicate creamy blonde tones, which Davines says evolve over weeks and months. This look is ideal for medium length, wavy, medium to thick hair.
