Now, clearly hair genius and show legend Adam Reed is a real friend to Tribu-te. We loooooved having him as our special guest for the Autumn 2020 magazine (see here). So we’re thrilled to find him literally all over the UK press right now for the launch of his ‘headcare’ range Arkive. From ES magazine, to The Sunday Times Style magazine, on air with This Morning, online and listed in awards… there is a lot of noise about Adam’s latest adventure and arguably his most personal.
Headcare
To know Adam is to understand fully how mindful he is, and how he adopts a truly holistic approach to caring for our mind, body and soul. To put it simply, he believes we need to care for our entire head, inside and out, and this is integral to the motivation behind creating Arkive. A collection of 11 products reflects Adam’s honesty about his own mental health journey. The look, smell and purpose for each tells a story, literally. Adam is a wordsmith and raconteur, he is engaging and emotional – all evident in the Arkive portfolio.
Outside and in
The Arkive packaging is simple, modern and mindful – so alluring. But before you even get to see the results of the haircare and styling, first you meet the fragrances. There are two important two comforting and evocative scents throughout Arkive and they also have a story. Adam says the smell of mandarin, rhubarb and currant mixed with warm vanilla, tea rose and white musk strive to recreate a grounding hug. The second fragrance is tomato leaf, rhubarb and honeysuckle scent, and created to smell like how catching up with an old friend feels – uplifting, unparalleled and good for the soul!
So what about the products? Of course there’s a brilliant shampoo, conditioner, hairspray and treatment mask as well as invigorating scalp scrub and lightweight oil. But we particularly love the All Together Now Co Cleanse – a 2 in 1 cleansing system – and Root-Ine Scalp Serum which contains botanical actives and jojoba to hydrate and succinic acid and rosebay extract to refine the scalp’s texture. And what about the Prologue Hair Primer? Aimed to be activated by heat, it promises to create even shine and hold whilst protecting from UV. The New Form Blow Dry Spray heat protects, increases hair’s strength and gives hair its volume fix and the Scene Setter Hybrid Pomade gives texture and body whilst smoothing flyaways.
Promoting a belief
Follow Adam on Instagram for an immersive experience! He shares and posts energetically – adopting a ‘warts and all’ approach which is endearing and energising. Even when being honest about struggles and mental wellbeing, the vibe is that by sharing we can help and support. You’ll find news, views and humour in equal measure.
