Extending his reach from salons and products to a new venue in London, hairdresser Mark Woolley has opened Electric Space. Offering a workspace and creative studios for use by visitors and Electric Space members, this is a multi-faceted building worth exploring. And what better way to discover what Electric Space is all about, than to use it! With the Tribu-te team, Nicky Pope, publisher of Tribu-te Magazine UK, and presenter of the Respectfully podcasts, visited the address at 11 Rathbone Place, London W1. Here we recorded podcasts, interviews and soundbites to find out what Electric Space offers, and how it works.
Nicky wrapped the day by talking to Marcus Allen, the fantastic, super-host and general manager. He was happy to review the experience with us. Here’s the conversation:
Admire the views
Here’s a reprise for the interior of the Electric Space. To find out more about how to become a member, or to hire Electric for an event, filming or education, simply email Mark Woolley: mark@electric-hair.com
The open reception space includes a generous bar *fully licenced, with deskspace and the Atrium hair salon space to the rear, with backwashes.
The lower basement area includes a barbershop space, a product store for the use of the Electric space members so they can purchase product and tools on site, and a small cinema (where we filmed).
The lounge area upstairs is referred to as the staff room! Here members can rest, catch up with friends and clients over drinks, or quietly address their paperwork! We love it.
A second salon space with room for 17 chairs is attractive and again, open for use by members or to hire. A studio space on the top floor seals the deal. Electric Space – thanks for the tour and see you again, soon!
