Well, we think so… and without blowing our own trumpet, the eighth edition of the Tribu-te Show in London was a truly historic event. Selling out the Aldwych Theatre in London’s West End, more than 1100 hairdressers and industry influencers packed into the ornate theatre to watch six big-hitting hairdressers wow the crowd.
The show kicked off with the inaugural The Big One UK Awards. Hosted by Tribu-te UK publisher, Nicky Pope, and UK editor, Lilly Cox, all the finalists were invited up onto the West End stage to take a bow; the audience was delighted. It was the perfect way to celebrate the calibre of entries received, and to honour the hard work and skill of all our finalists regardless of the result. You can read all about the event and the winners HERE:
Following the awards, and opening the show was the brilliant Kevin Murphy who had flown in from Australia especially. His laid-back, cool-girl style was a a real hit with the audience who enjoyed his brilliantly simple yet effective techniques that really gave them something to take home to the salon.
After the interval, the second half of the show was comprised of five of Trevor Sorbie’s former art directors. With just 20 minutes and two models each, Antoinette Beenders, Tom Connell, Sally Brooks, Eugene Souleiman and Angelo Seminara each dazzled the audience with their hair work showcasing how brilliantly Trevor Sorbie nurtures and mentors his teams to allow them to develop their own own styles and individual personality. It was truly special.
Then to top the evening off, the man himself, Trevor Sorbie, came onto the stage to say a few words and was then presented with a birthday cake by Sally & Antoinette marking his 70th birthday! WHAT.A NIGHT. Study the pictures below, and be impressed. And be sure to snap up one of our souvenir tote bags if you were there! You can buy them HERE:
